Today I have a little bit of an update for you all and this about what I had done last week, which was super exciting!
So last week I had been on work experience and I done a media workshop which was kindly offered by my school which is obviously an opportunity I did not want to pass up. The workshop was kindly organised by Ian Payne who is a news presenter on ITV News and it basically give us a whole perspective of the media and what it involved, which was very interesting and I was highly fascinated by the whole project and I thought I would tell you guys a bit more about what we done.
Day 1- Introduction & Radio presenting
Hello, How are you? Where are you from? What do you like?
In the morning for our first activity was breaking the ice basically and we had introduce our self’s and get to know the other people there which was quite nerve racking but we all got along. Then kindly Ian he took us through his job and what it consisted off and took us on a journey into the world of journalism. I enjoyed this and it was quite helpful and it was fun! After lunch was the second part of our day and we were doing radio presenting which was really good and we got to record our voices and play them back to hear what we sounded like. To be honest it was quite good even though it was highly embarrassing it was cool to hear how we would sound on the radio.
Day 2 – Film Roles and BBC studio tour
Second day was double exciting! So are morning consisted of learning about most of the film roles on a film set and trust me there are far too many. It was interesting and we got a view of what each job did and I learnt quite a few new one’s I wasn’t familiar with. During the afternoon we trekked up to BBC studios where we managed to have a tour around the studios and got to have a look at where they film the news and broadcast programmes. It was a really good afternoon.
Day 3 – Sports Central Tour, Learning more
about blogging and being in court
This was probably my favourite day as I just really enjoyed everything about it. We had another tour today and this was around sport’s central which is a huge building that holds so many various sports which you can train in or even just try out. It was amazing seeing all the different facilities and just what it has in store. Then we got to learning more about blogging and it was so enjoyable and I really enjoyed this as I learnt a lot of new tips. Our final part of the day was being in the court rooms and this was incredible. We got to act out all different court cases and it was really fun.
Day 4 – It’s a wrap
So Thursday was our final day and it was quite sad I didn’t want it to end because I loved it so much. On our final day we done some sport commentating and got to try out some camera equipment to which was pretty cool. Overall I had an amazing time and met some wonderful people. I wish I could do it all over again.
Thank you to everyone who made it amazing and it was such an experience I won’t forget!
