It does not matter if you love or loathe the holidays because Christmas is on its way. That means it is officially time to celebrate with lots of delicious food as well as embracing all the festive decorations in your town. However, this year we decided to take a visit to the Christmas cafe located on the lower ground floor in Fenwick Newcastle.

Each year, the department store has always been known for its iconic, window reveal and its Christmas shop which has featured a smaller version of Rudolph’s cafe before. This year the cafe returned bigger and better serving your favourite brunch foods to mouth watering roasts, the options are endless for a full stomach on a cold afternoon.

The service

Although this year Fenwick; decided to make the cafe bigger and better for the holiday season. Upon arrival at Rudolph’s, we were greeted; by the friendly waiting staff at the reception who showed us to our table. To avoid disappointment, we decided to book in advance for a Sunday morning brunch in the lead to the festive season.

The decoration

The minute we walked into Rudolph’s cafe it was instantly like we had walked into a scene of a Christmas movie. Accents of red detailing ran throughout the cafe as well as, a huge Christmas tree placed in the middle of the room surrounded by presents. Not to mention the joyful decorative touches of candy cane jars on each table and the hanging red baubles from the ceiling. This made us feel instantly Christmassy and ready for the holiday spirit ahead.

The food

The food and beverages are one of the main indicators of a restaurant and, having a wide variety for everyone to choose from is key. In terms of choice, we had the breakfast menu but, they do a lunch and dinner menu too. We decided to order the cinnamon waffles topped with baked banana. The dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavour and a delicate, spicy texture that melted in your mouth. We also sampled the gingerbread lattes which, tasted like Christmas in a cup and surely satisfied our seasonal cravings.
