Hey everyone, it’s Caitlyn and welcome back,
Let me tell you this week, has been so jam packed with so many fun and busy events and I thought I would share with you all, one of the events I attended on Tuesday which was The Make Up For Ever Blogger Event at my local Intu Metrocentre and let me tell you I was very excited! I received an email by the lovely ladies at Makeup Forever and I was like of course I will attend as it will be such an incredible experience and to test out and learn about the products as well as meet some lovely other bloggers out there.
Tuesday, 11th July…
Today was the day and I was so excited, however I was in such a rush to get ready as I had Sixth Form that day which meant I had to be quick to choose an outfit, shower, do my makeup etc but I made it in the end, don’t worry. I decided for the event to go a bit chic but casual, I wore my New Look leather mini skirt, River Island grey bodysuit, Garage black Chelsea boots and my long beige duster jacket. Then I was ready to go!
Upon arrival of the event, I was greeted by the lovely ladies Emily and Sarah who organised the event and complimented us with drinks and light refreshments which was amazing, a Make Up For Ever goodie bag which was honestly so insane, I was so grateful! As the other girls started to arrive, we all had drinks and talked and it was just so lovely getting to meet the lovely other bloggers out there because when you put a group of blogger girls who are makeup lovers in a room together, it consists of swatching products and taking photos – as you do haha. The night kicked off with learning some creative history about Make Up For Ever which was so fascinating because I didn’t know a lot about the brand and how it became, which meant it was interesting to know more information. I will enlighten you on some of the information I learned…
Makeup Foreverwas originally founded by an aspiring artist named Dany Sanz who worked back stage within theatre and one night her friends asked her if she could do her makeup for the show. This then resulted in Dany’s makeup looks the spotlight of the show which drew a lot of media attention. She then begun to realise that her creations were highly appreciated therefore she opened the first professional make up school in Europe in the 70s. In result to this she realised it was time to create her own brand and in 1984 Make Up For Ever was born. You may find when you visit any of your local department stores which house Make Up For Ever that their brushes and stands almost look like they belong in theatre which is so cool because it shows they’re replicating the history.
After we had concluded the history of the brand, Emily demonstrated to us a makeup tutorial on Sarah to show us the base makeup of the brand as well as talking through each product during application which was interesting to hear the benefits of each product. We also got to swatch each product after use which I loved! I definitely discovered some of my new favourite products which I am going to have go and purchase such as the Ultra HD concealer, the sculpting kit, the Pro Light Fusion Luminiser , the skin equaliser primers– in cool pink and a matifying primer and the Star Lit Powder – in the shade Copper.
Throughout the evening I had a bit of a wonder around browsing all the products and leaving my hand full of swatches, I was in heaven haha. After testing all the products out, I thought it would be a good idea to get colour matched to my perfect shade of foundation by Emily. After finding my perfect shade (being the lightest because I am so pale haha) I decided to get my full base makeup done and let me tell you I was OBSESSED! Emily done such an incredible job and when I got home I did not want to take it off as I was in love with it!
I had such an amazing evening with Make Up For Ever, and met some lovely ladies who were so inspiring and lovely to talk too. Also a huge thank you to Emily and Sarah for hosting such an incredible evening, I can’t wait for what future events they have to bring and I will definitely be going to purchase more products because I have definitely found a new favourite make up brand!
Make sure to check out Emily and Sarah on Instagram because they’re both such lovely and talented people as well as the other blogger girls I met.
