Hey Everyone, it’s Caitlyn!
We all have that one time of the month or over a range of months where we get obsessed with either a make up look we have been wearing or the products used in the make up look and today I thought I would chat you through both. So sit down, put your feet up, grab a coffee and get ready to read!
The makeup look I have been mainly loving this month is a golden/nude eye (as I would describe it because as you can see, no way an expert) with a light matte brown lip. I have been wearing this look every single day for sixth form but even on the weekends when I am going out because I am just a tad obsessed. I thought I would share this with you guys because I have been absolutely digging it and most of the products are super affordable from the drug store and a few high end too and I would definitely check out the products or the look yourself as I think it’s super cute!
These are all the products I am using in this particular look,
The first step I like to do is prime my face and I just squeeze a little bit onto my fingertips and rub this into my skin, I mainly focus on the areas I tend to get oily for example my T-zone as I have oily/combination skin so by using a primer it helps set my makeup and leaves it lasting longer on my skin.
Next is foundation and I just pop a couple of pumps onto the back of my hand and using the Real Techniques buffing brush, I buff this into my skin and I am actually really liking this foundation as 1. It’s my perfect shade and 2. It’s super affordable. However I noticed it sometimes makes my skin quite dry, I’m not if that’s to do with the weather or my skin but overall I am enjoying this foundation.
Then I liked to take my two concealers and apply the slightly darker shader under my eyes and then the lighter one on any blemishes I have. Simple as that.
I then use a powder just to set my foundation and I again mainly focus on the areas I get oily like my T zone and just apply a bit to my temples. At the moment I am using the No 7 Arched powder brush to apply my powder.
Next step is brows and I use the Benefit Brow kit and I use the Benefit Brow Primer first to prime my brows. Then using the mapping tool you get and the pencil I just begin to fill my brows in and what I like about this set is that the pencil comes with a spooly brush at the end so I just brush my brows through as I go. Then I like to use a bit of powder which I just fill my brows in with as well and to finish of I use the brow gel to set them and make them look a bit more human.
Then it’s time to move onto eyes! I take my Barry M eyeshadow palette and I use the primer that is in the palette and I just apply this all over my lid. I find that if I use a primer it helps my eyeshadow not crease throughout the long day which is a positive. Then I take the Rose Gold Shade and apply this all over my lid and it looks so beautiful and gives your eyes a bit of shimmer, I apply this using my Ted Baker base shadow brush. After that I take my Real techniques brush and using the light brown shade I apply this into my crease and just begin to blend it and keep blending until it looks all good. Since all the eyeshadow is done it’s time to move onto eyeliner. I first begin to use my eye liner pencil and just fill in my water line and then I take my liquid liner and begin to “equally” draw my flicks on and I stress equally as sometimes it doesn’t happen. I’m pretty sure we all have them days. Finally I apply my mascara on the top and bottom lashes and then I am complete for eyes!
Last but not least I do my lips. For lips, whatever I use I always use a lip balm before hand because I hate my lips getting dry throughout the day especially since I mostly wear matte lipsticks. So I just apply a lip butter which smells like Mango from The Body Shop and this leaves my lips super moisturised. Then it’s time to apply my NYX liquid lipstick and this is probably a holy grail product for me now, I wear this everyday nearly and I am just slightly obsessed I defiantly think I will have to re purchase another one.
What products are you loving and have you got a go-to look this month?
