Are you struggling with your new-season wardrobe and are looking for some new fashion trends to inspire you? Look for no further because I have all your favourite essentials for the year ahead.

It is that time of year where the evenings are drawing in and the nights are getting darker, and there is a cold chill in the air, therefore, it is time to indulge the knitwear and layers for the cosiest season.

Whether you are having a relaxing weekend and need some comfy loungewear or need a new sparkly dress for your next night out, I have all the latest trends for the season ahead.

Shades of brown
If you are into a more subdued, low-key end of the shade spectrum, and bold colours are not for you, why not try incorporating some brown garments into your wardrobe. Brown is officially the new black, and everyone will be wearing it this season. Here are some of my favourite pieces from Hidden Fashion, which includes the houndstooth skirt. This colour palette instantly transforms any outfit into an Autumn dream and can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion.

Cut-out pieces are still a big trend which we can take from the last two seasons which is also great news for the environment. Spotted on the runway at Eudon Choi and Stella McCartney, they will still be essential for our winter wardrobe. This casual brown ribbed crop top features long sleeves, a crew neck and a low back tie. Paired with joggers or mom jeans, you can’t go wrong.

Loungewear
Throughout 2020, we all pretty much lived in loungewear, and you can guarantee that is what I will be wearing throughout the colder months too. There is nothing better than warm, cosy clothing, whether you are running errands or watching your favourite Netflix series because we all want to be comfortable. When paired with chunky boots and a Teddy coat or borg joggers – the options are endless.

This pair of Borg Wide Leg Trousers instantly caught my eye, and not only would they keep you warm, but they look very stylish too. Another winter essential you need this year is a matching loungewear set, and here is two of my favourites. Whether you’re running errands or needing a cosy outfit for your afternoon walk, a new co-ord is always an effortless but easy outfit to throw on while you’re heading out the door.

Light jackets
When it gets colder, it instantly becomes layering season which is my favourite time of the year. Duster coats, shackets and blazers are all A/W essentials because they are so versatile and are very easy to style whether they are oversized or fitted to frame an outfit, you can guarantee it works. A duster coat is like a trench coat is great for when there is a chill in the air, and you need a simple jacket to throw over any outfit. The white stitching adds extra detailing to this outfit and transforms a plain black coat into a stylish wardrobe essential.

Sparkle season
Party season is on its way, and if you’re like me, you will already be planning your outfits for the festive season ahead because I love to be organised. Sparkles and sequins are always a reoccurring theme for Christmas and New Years Eve outfits and to me, it is the one time of year where I feel spoilt for choice for garments to pick. One of my favourite pieces to wear this season is this silver chain main crop top.

The cowl neck front and sliver, chain hook neck fastening provides a luxurious finish to the outfit and, paired with white trousers and heels, the ultimate show stopper outfit. Another reoccurring fabric throughout the party season is mesh. This black glitter metallic playsuit features a front mesh wrap detail with long organza sleeves. Paired with heels and a clutch bag, you will be ready to hit the town. Now it wouldn’t be an AW wardrobe essential from me without throwing some clothing; that is gold in there. This shimmer gold mini skirt made from textured material is the one skirt you need in your wardrobe this year. It can be dressed up or down to-go from a day out at the Christmas markets to evening drinks.

Barrettes
A barrette is a hair accessory you may associate with finding in your grandma’s old jewellery box. However, it is one of the most fashionable hair accessories to have and, we all know Blair Waldorf would highly approve.

It is one of the most fashionable accessories to have. Are you surprised? Probably not considering, they are one of the most stylish trends for AW21/22 that you need for your capsule wardrobe.

A pearl barrette is an accessory you can wear to work without feeling the need to worry about your hair that day. This elegant clip will instantly add detail to your hairstyle and, it will look very chic. Another item would be a logo barrette whether it is designer or simply spelling out a word in diamanté lettering; this hair accessory ties together any look. It can be styled in various ways but, a classic would be to place the barrette symmetrically on both sides of the face to help add definition and shape.
